YPC Summit Show
This morning we we pleased to have Sarah Johnston and Katrina Olsen from the YPC on the show talking about the upcoming YPC Summit. You know, that summit you should go to.
Click here to listen to the show.
And click here to learn more about the Summit…and register.
Oh, and be sure to register this week to get the early bird rate!
Whew. Playing a little catch-up.
Krug Park
The Weekly Grind has a new favorite bar. Krug Park in Benson. And we were thrilled to have the owners as our guests on Saturday. We picked their brains about the name, the history, and the stupid-awesome bloody marys. Even if you don’t like booze, their insight on the original Krug Park and Omaha history is reason enough to take a listen.
Hear our interview by downloading Saturday’s show here.
It’s a fantastic, fantastic bar. The Weekly Grind highly recommends you stop by. This Saturday would be a good time…because it’s their Halloween Party. For details, check out their events page.
Cheers.
Get yo’ skin right.
On Saturday’s show, we were delighted to talk with the fine ladies from Wellness Esthetics. “What is Wellness Esthetics?” you ask. Well to start, they’re a brand new skin-care studio for men and women. But really, they’re skin-care superstars. Seriously. They are the first and only skin-care providers in the state who are certified in Oncology Esthetics, meaning they’re experts in helping cancer patients or survivors with specialized skin care programs.
As dudes, we really can’t speak too intelligently on the topic…
…which is exactly why you should download Saturday’s show and listen for yourself.
So you want to get yo’ skin right? We highly recommend learning more or making an appointment at Wellness Esthetics. You can check out their website, or even make an appointment through their Facebook page.
Win a Startup Weekend Omaha Ticket
We ran short on time on Saturday’s show and didn’t get a chance to give away a ticket (a $75 value) to Startup Weekend Omaha.
Instead, we’ll give the ticket away here on our website. Comment below on why you want to attend Startup Weekend Omaha, happening September 16-18 at Mammel Hall, 67th and Pine Streets. Mammel Hall is the new home to the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration.
One winner will be drawn at random and announced later this week on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Good luck!
Mustache, If You Please
We are pleased as punch to be among the first in Omaha to spread the word about the new local design company Grain and Mortar. The name may be new, but the talent most certainly is not. Earlier this week the graphic design studios of DownsDesign and Image Made announced their new partnership, with a new office space and a party planned for this fall.
On Saturday we’ll learn more about Grain and Mortar, what brought them together, and, perhaps most importantly, why they’re so crazy for mustaches.
Then, get your dialing fingers ready! We’ll give away one ticket to Startup Weekend Omaha (a $75 value), happening September 16-18 at UNO’s Mammel Hall, near 67th and Pine Streets. Jot down our studio number to win: (402) 342-1180.
Exciting News To Announce!
Tune in this Saturday, as the show has an exciting new (or is it old?) partnership to announce, along with some new avenues The Weekly Grind will be traveling along.
We will announce Saturday morning, as always between 10-11am on Omaha’s KOIL AM 1180!
Here Comes the Catwalk
Brook Hudson stops by The Weekly Grind studio this Saturday morning to talk fashion; specifically, 2011 Omaha Fashion Week, happening in downtown Omaha. Brook will give us an overview of the events happening at this annual event that celebrates Omaha-area fashion designers.
We’ll dive into this topic and others Saturday morning at 10 on KOIL 1180 AM, or stream the show online.
It’s a MAHA Morning
On Saturday’s show we’ll be welcomed in-studio by the founders and organizers of the MAHA Music Festival. Not only will we preview the acts coming to town on Saturday, August 13, but we’ll also discuss MAHA’s plans on a new venue following this season’s floods.
Have a question about MAHA? Care to suggest a new location for this year’s event? Call us Saturday morning, (402) 342-1180. You can also share your thoughts via Twitter: @weeklygrind.
We Live in Omaha
Tune in Saturday morning at 10 when we sit down with the fancy pants behind What Cheer, a website design and development studio based in Omaha’s Mastercraft building on North 13th Street.
What Cheer’s slogan, “We Make Fancy Websites,” is evident in all of their projects big and small, including I live in Omaha.
We’ll learn more about their work and the origin of their cute and clever name.
And remember! The Weekly Grind can be found on Facebook and Twitter. (Aren’t we cool?)
