May 10, 2010

If you missed Saturday’s show, you missed one of our best shows so far this year.

First we chatted with Brian Gilbreth, founder and president of the Association for Corporate Growth Nebraska chapter. It’s an awesome organization that is going to do some great things for Omaha. To learn more about them, and to register to become a member, visit http://www.acg.org/nebraska And be sure to check the website for a schedule of their upcoming breakfasts at Happy Hollow Country Club, like the one on June 10 with speaker Mike McCarthy of McCarthy Capital.

Our second guest was the lovely and hilarious Wendy Townley, author of Nerdy Thirty, observations and advice from a lifelong nerd. It was a really fun interview and we even gave away a signed copy of Nerdy Thirty, which hits the book stands sometime this week. And if you’d like to meet Wendy, you have plenty of opportunities at these events:

Celebrate the publication of Nerdy Thirty on Saturday, May 22 at Myth in Omaha’s historic Old Market district. From 6 to 9 p.m., receive a free glass of champagne when you purchase a copy – or have an existing copy – signed by Wendy. (Who doesn’t enjoy the bubbly?)

Saturday, June 5, 6:30 @ Omaha Press Club – Listen to Wendy give readings of Nerdy Thirty while you also enjoy inklings from cartoonist / author Jeffrey Koterba, and Are You Going To Eat That? author Michael Campbell. Again, that’s Saturday, June 5 at 6:30 at the Omaha Press Club. A cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m., with the three readings starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door, which includes hors d’oeuvres and one cocktail.

At to put the cherry on top of an already great show, we closed it out by talking about the potential Big 10 expansion, with Jeff absolutely land-basting Texas. It was comedy gold.

Thanks again to all our listeners and sponsors. And check out the websites for our guests!
